SCOPE OF PRACTICE

International Certified Cost of Care Professionals have specialized expertise in performing a comprehensive & systematic analysis of & making recommendations for an individual’s current & future needs & related costs as a result of disability arising from catastrophic injury or chronic health care needs. ICCCPs make recommendations based upon published standards of practice, comprehensive assessment, case & forensic data analysis & research pertaining to the client & the disability. Registrants with this specialty possess a unique set of knowledge, experiences, skills, as well as the ability to determine & apply strategies, which are used in ascertaining a client’s current and future needs & related costs for judicial prognosis, as confirmed via the College’s certification & examination process.

ICCCP Fellowship & ICCCP Grandfathering

We are excited to announce the Grandfathering phase of the International Certified Cost of Care Professional & Fellow credential.
After the Grandfathering phase credential eligibility is based on experience &/or education as well as the passing of the examination.

ICCCP fellowship Eligibility & Application Process

Prior to applying, candidates can perform a credential eligiblity self-assessment HERE or forward a current resume/CV to info@cvrp.ca to determine eligibility at NO COST.
1.CLCP or CCLCP, or other recognized life care planning credential in good standing; & 3 of the following 6 categories:

2.1. Confirmation of testimony as an expert witness in court in successfully defending life care plan(s); &/or
2.2. Proof of publication of a peer-reviewed article in a recognized publication; &/or
2.3. Taught life care planning certification-related courses at or through a recognized institution; &/or
2.4. Made presentations as a subject matter expert at recognized conferences where a minimum of 8 certification education maintenance credit hours in total awarded (including credit for speaker preparation hours) or would be eligible for awarding of CEUs; &/or
2.5. Proof of experience in peer-reviewing for life care planning credentialing; &/or
2.6. Participation in life care planning exam question development; &

3. Application & non-refundable Fee; &
4. Proof of citizenship (government ID, the college accepts softs copies but reserves the right to request certified copies); &
5. Completion of the CVRP ICCCP beta exam to provide assistance in peer validation; &
A Registrant profile is created or updated on the Public Registry, to display certification status(s).
Registrants are granted a 4 to 6 weeks grace period to submit:
6.Vulnerable Sector Police Check/Police Check; & current Errors & Omission Insurance/Liability Insurance.

Applicants applying for ICCCP Grandfathering or Fellowship, holding a CLCP, CCLCP, or other recognized life care planning credential in good standing, are NOT required to submit a redacted life care plan report for peer review.

A successful ICCCP(F) applicant will be awarded 12 ICCCP CEUs for participation in the CVRP life care planning beta exam.

2. Confirmation of completed life care plans &/or authoring or co-authoring life care plan reports; &
3. Application & non-refundable Fee; &
4. Proof of citizenship (government ID, the college accepts softs copies but reserves the right to request certified copies); &
5. Successful peer-review of a redacted life care plan report; &
6. Successful passing of the CVRP ICCCP exam (min 70%, up to 3 rewrites, one 6 month exam deferment). Applicants must sit the exam within one year of application submission; &

A Registrant profile is created &/or updated on the Public Registry, to display certification status(s).
Registrants are granted a 4 to 6 weeks grace period to submit:
7.Vulnerable Sector Police Check/Police Check; & current Errors & Omission Insurance/Liability Insurance.

ICCCP GF APPLICATION

Candidate is eligible for the ICCCP Fellowship, if 3 of the 6 criteria as detailed in items “2.1” through “2.6” are met.

Prior to applying, candidates can perform a credential eligiblity self-assessment HERE or forward a current resume/CV to info@cvrp.ca to determine eligibility at NO COST.
1. A CVRP credential in good standing or CCRC, CRC, CCM, CVE, CCVE, ICVE or equivaliant credential; &
2. Proof of completion of College-approved training (including consideration for post-approval), confirmed in writing with a certified life care planner totaling a minimum of 800 supervision hours (equivalent to number of instruction hours required for university credit) to include topics such as:
•introduction to life care planning, professional & ethical issues, evidence-based standards of practice, medical rehabilitation determination & cost projection;
•judicial & professional witness expectations;
•catastrophic injuries in children & adults such as amputation, brain injury, spinal cord injury, chronic pain;
•pediatric life care planning issues such as brachial plexus, cerebral palsy, childhood abuse;
•other life care planning issues such as aging, & life expectancy;
•vocational, avocational, & education issues;
•development of a life care plan report structure & format;
•replacement & valuation of valuable services;
•pricing, offsets for ordinary expenses, & replacements frequency; &
3. Application & non- refunadable Fee; &
4. Proof of citizenship (government ID, the college accepts softs copies but reserves the right to request certified copies); &
5. Successful peer-review of a redacted life care plan; &
6. Successful ICCCP exam, (min 70%, up to 3 rewrites, one 6 month exam deferment). Applicants must sit the exam within one year of application submission; &
7. Initial Registration Fee, within 60 days of successful exam; &
A Registrant profile is created &/or updated on the Public Registry, to display certification status(s).

New ICCCP Application – Coming Soon!

The beta ICCCP online exam is one 3 hour session based on Cost of Care competencies, consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions. Applicants must sit the exam within 1 year of application submission. A minimum grade of 70% is required & one 6 month exam deferment is permitted.  If exam rewrites are required (up to 3 rewrites) fees are payable to CVRP & online exam provider. Applicants that require a rewrite after the 1 year application submission expiry must complete exam rewrite within 3 months.
