International Certified Vocational Evaluator (ICVE)
Scope of Practice
International Certified Vocational Evaluators (ICVE) have the specialized expertise to conduct comprehensive assessments & provide forensic services for assisting in the determination of benefit entitlement or quantifying financial losses related to vocational impairment, earning capacity, work capacity, employability, placeability as well as residual vocational capacity & avocational-related losses. Registrants with this specialty possess a unique set of knowledge, experiences, skills, as well as the ability to determine strategies & to administer, score & interpret psychometric tests and/or work samples in providing vocational evaluation services, as confirmed via the College’s certification & examination process.

ICVE Eligibility & Application process
Prior to submitting an application, forward your current resume/CV showing VE experience & education to info@cvrp.ca to determine eligibility at no cost.
When submitting redacted VE reports, please follow recommendations in the ICVE VE Rubric.
When submitting redacted VE reports, please follow recommendations in the ICVE Report Submission Guidelines.
1. Application & fee (includes examination). Application fee is non-refundable. Fee Schedule; &/or
1. Canadian Certified Vocational Evaluator (CCVE) in good standing.
Successful examination (minimum of 70%); or
2. Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE) (obtained prior to 2009) in good standing.
Submit 2 redacted reports for peer review/receive approval.
Successful examination (minimum of 70%); or
3. Certified Vocational Evaluator (obtained prior to 2009 and lapsed 2015 or later).
Show evidence of continuing education/keeping current in the field during lapse (on average 20 CEUs per year).
Submit 2 redacted reports for peer review/receive approval.
Successful examination (minimum of 70%); or
4. Certified Vocational Evaluator (obtained 2021 or later).
Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience in the field of vocational evaluation under the supervision of a CCVE/CVE/ICVE/ABVE or a registered Psychologist, along with job description(s).
Submission of completed Employer Verification Form(s) confirming above-noted experience; or if currently self-employed, Verification Forms completed by CCVE/CVE/ICVE/ABVE or registered Psychologist that provided supervision.
Submit 2 redacted reports for peer review/receive approval.
Successful examination (minimum of 70%); or
5. Professional Vocational Evaluator (PVE) in good standing.
Submit 2 redacted reports for peer review/receive approval.
Successful examination (minimum of 70%); or
6. Lapsed Professional Vocational Evaluator (PVE) (lapsed 2015 or later).
Show evidence of continuing education/keeping current in the field during lapse (on average 20 CEUs per year).
Submit 2 redacted reports for peer review/receive approval.
Successful examination (minimum of 70%); or
7. International Psychometric Evaluation Certification (IPEC) in good standing.
Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience in the field of vocational evaluation under the supervision of a CCVE/CVE/ICVE/ABVE or a registered
Psychologist, along with job description(s).
Submission of completed Employer Verification Form(s) confirming above-noted experience; or if currently self-employed, Verification Forms completed by CCVE/CVE/ICVE/ABVE or registered Psychologist that provided supervision.
Submit 2 redacted reports for peer review/receive approval.
Successful examination (minimum of 70%); or
8. American Board of Vocational Experts (ABVE) in good standing.
Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience in the field of vocational evaluation under the supervision of a CCVE/CVE/ICVE/ABVE or a registered Psychologist, along with job description(s).
Submission of completed Employer Verification Form(s) confirming above-noted experience; or if currently self-employed, Verification Forms completed by
CCVE/CVE/ICVE/ABVE or registered Psychologist that provided supervision.

Successful examination (minimum of 70%); or
9. No Credential; &
2. Original education transcripts. Due to COVID-19 CVRP is accepting soft copies of transcripts; &
3. Submit a current Vulnerable Sector Police Check(VSPC)/Criminal Police Check(PC); &
4. Provide a current Error & Omissions(E&O)/Liability Insurance; &

An applicant achieves certification upon the following:
5. Successful VE report peer review; &
6. Successful examination minimum of 70% within 1 year of application submission; &
7. Initial (first year) Registration fee within 60 days of successful exam. Fee Schedule.
A Registrant profile is created &/or updated on the Public Registry, to display certification status(s).
ICVE(P) ELIGIBILITY & APPLICATION PROCESS
The College has developed a provisional pathway for Applicants who do not meet ICVE criteria.

1. Application & fee (includes examination). Application fee is non-refundable. Fee Schedule; &/or
1. Applicants that have met all the eligibility requirements for ICVE certification except have less than 2 years of full-time employment working in the field of vocational evaluation. They may write the ICVE certification examination & upon successful completion shall enter a Mentoring Supervision Agreement with the College. The credential ICVE(P) will be conferred to the Registrant &, upon completion of all requirements under the Mentoring Supervision Agreement Registrants will be granted full ICVE status. Applicants will be allowed up to 36 months to complete the mentorship portion of the provisional process by obtaining the required 2 years of vocational evaluation experience; or
2. Applicants who have met all the eligibility requirements for ICVE certification except they are not able to demonstrate competency through peer review of work products. They may write the ICVE certification examination & upon successful completion shall enter a Mentoring Supervision Agreement with the College. The credential ICVE(P) will be conferred to the Registrant &, upon completion of all requirements under the Mentoring Supervision Agreement these Registrants will be granted full ICVE status. Applicants will be allowed 24 months to complete the mentorship portion of the provisional process by being able to demonstrate competency through oral peer review process of their work products. During the mentoring supervision process, the provisional Registrant can use the ICVE(P) credential. As well, during this time all of their ICVE related work must be supervised & peer review/signed by an ICVE or CCVE or a statement included to the effect that the work was reviewed by a CCVE or ICVE (with name of CCVE or ICVE indicated) to ensure standards of practice were followed. Once the provisional Registrant has successfully completed all mentoring criteria & the Mentoring Supervision Form has been filed with the College, the Registrant’s provisional classification will be changed to the ICVE credential & they can perform ICVE related work independently, within their area(s) of expertise & competence; &

The ICVE online examination with virtual proctoring is available. The examination is divided into two 3 hour sessions. It is a competency examination on Vocational Evaluation, consisting of 300 skill-based, multiple-choice & scenario questions. The content is standardized & a passing grade of 70% is required. If a rewrite is required a fee is payable to CVRP, the online examination provider & virtual proctor. An applicant must sit the examination within one year of application submission. Credential Laddering
The ICVE(F) classification has been developed to recognize individuals within the field who have achieved higher levels of professionalism through post graduate study &/or maintenance of other recognized related professional designations.
The ICVE(D) classification recognizes senior practitioners at the highest level of professionalism within the field of vocational evaluation who have made significant contributions through education, professional development & professional contribution activities.
