ICCCP & (F) APPLICATION PROCESS
SCOPE OF PRACTICE
International Certified Cost of Care Professional, ICCCPs have specialized expertise in performing a comprehensive & systematic analysis of & making recommendations for an individual’s current & future needs & related costs as a result of disability arising from catastrophic injury or chronic health care needs. ICCCPs make recommendations based upon published standards of practice, comprehensive assessment, case & forensic data analysis & research pertaining to the client & the disability. Registrants with this specialty possess a unique set of knowledge, experiences, skills, as well as the ability to determine & apply strategies, which are used in ascertaining a client’s current and future needs & related costs for judicial prognosis, as confirmed via the College’s certification & examination process.
ICCCP fellowship APPLICATION Process
Prior to applying, candidates may perform a credential eligibility self-assessment HERE or forward a current resume/CV to info@cvrp.ca to assess eligibility at NO COST.
1. Submit application & non-refundable Fee; &
2. Submit proof of citizenship (Government ID, the college accepts softs copies but reserves the right to request certified copies); &
3. Submit proof of a CLCP or CCLCP, or other recognized life care planning credential in good standing; &
Applicants applying for ICCCP Fellowship, holding a CLCP, CCLCP, or other recognized life care planning credential in Good Standing, are NOT required to submit a redacted life care plan report for peer review.
Plus 3 of the following 6:
3.1. Submit proof of confirmation of testimony as an expert witness in court in successfully defending life care plan(s); &/OR
3.2. Submit proof of candidate publication of a peer-reviewed article in a recognized publication; &/OR
3.3. Submit proof candidate taught life care planning certification-related courses at or through a recognized institution; &/OR
3.4. Submit proof candidate made presentations as a subject matter expert at recognized conferences where a minimum of 8 certification education maintenance credit hours in total awarded (including credit for prep hours) or would be eligible for awarding of CEUs; &/OR
3.5. Submit proof candidate has experience in peer-reviewing for life care planning credentialing; &/OR
3.6. Submit proof candidate participated in life care planning exam question development; &/OR
4. Submit Initial first year registration Fee; &
5. Submit a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check/Police Check; & current Errors & Omission Insurance/Liability Insurance.
A successful ICCCP(F) applicant is awarded 12 ICCCP CEUs who participate in the CVRP life care planning beta exam towards credential compliance.
A Registrant profile is created or updated on the Public Registry, to display certification status(s).

1. Submit application & non-refundable Fee; &
2. Submit proof of citizenship (Government ID, the college accepts softs copies but reserves the right to request certified copies); &
3. Submit proof of a CVRP credential in good standing or CCRC, CRC, CCM, CVE, CCVE, ICVE or equivalent; &
4. Submit proof of completion of College-approved training (including consideration for post-approval), confirmed in writing with a certified life care planner totaling a minimum of 800 supervision hours (equivalent to number of instruction hours required for university credit) to include topics such as:
•introduction to life care planning, professional & ethical issues, evidence-based standards of practice, medical rehabilitation determination & cost projection;
•judicial & professional witness expectations;
•catastrophic injuries in children & adults such as amputation, brain injury, spinal cord injury, chronic pain;
•pediatric life care planning issues such as brachial plexus, cerebral palsy, childhood abuse;
•other life care planning issues such as aging, & life expectancy;
•vocational, avocational, & education issues;
•development of a life care plan report structure & format;
•replacement & valuation of valuable services;
•pricing, offsets for ordinary expenses, & replacements frequency; &
5. Submit proof of completed life care plans &/or authoring or co-authoring life care plan reports; &
6. Achieve a successful peer-review of a redacted life care plan; &
7. Successful ICCCP exam, (min 70%, up to 3 rewrites, one 6 month exam deferment). Applicants must sit the exam within one year of application submission; &
8. Submit initial registration Fee, within 60 days of successful exam; &
9. Submit a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check/Police Check; & current Errors & Omission Insurance/Liability Insurance.
A Registrant profile is created &/or updated on the Public Registry, to display certification status(s).
The ICCCP online exam with virtual proctoring one 3 hour sessions based on Cost of Care competencies, consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions. Applicants must sit the exam within 1 year of application submission. A minimum grade of 70% is required & one 6 month exam deferment is permitted. If exam rewrites are required (up to 3) fees are payable to CVRP, online exam provider, & virtual proctor. Applicants who rewrite exams after the one-year application submission expiry must complete exam rewrites within three months.

The CVRP Registration Committee reviews applications of appeal from Appellants contesting decisions of the Registrar or Deputy Registrar pertaining to credential eligibility, compliance, exam sitting, grade assigned &/or continuing education units.
