SCOPE OF PRACTICE
International Certified Cost of Care Professional, ICCCPs have the specialized expertise in performing a comprehensive & systematic analysis of & making recommendations for an individual’s current & future needs & related costs as a result of disability arising from catastrophic injury or chronic health care needs. ICCCPs make recommendations based upon published standards of practice, comprehensive assessment, case & forensic data analysis & research pertaining to the client & the disability. Registrants with this specialty possess a unique set of knowledge, experiences, skills, as well as the ability to determine & apply strategies, which are used in ascertaining a client’s current and future needs & related costs for judicial prognosis, as confirmed via the College’s certification & examination process.
ICCCP Fellowship & ICCCP Grandfathering
We are excited to announce the Grandfathering phase of the ICCCP & Fellow of the International Certified Cost of Care Professional, ICCCP(F) & ICCCP credential.
After the Grandfathering phase certification eligibility criteria is based on experience &/or formal education as well as the passing of an examination.
ICCCP fellowship Eligibility & Application Process
Prior to submitting an application, forward a current resume/CV to info@cvrp.ca to determine eligibility at no cost.
1. Confirmation of possession of CLCP or CCLCP, or other recognized life care planning credential in good standing; &
Plus (3 of the following 6 categories):
2.1. Confirmation of testimony as an expert witness in court in successfully defending life care plan(s); &/or
2.2. Proof of publication of a peer-reviewed article in a recognized publication; &/or
2.3. Taught life care planning certification-related courses at or through a recognized institution; &/or
2.4. Made presentations as a subject matter expert at recognized conferences where a minimum of 8 certification education maintenance credit hours in total were awarded (including credit for speaker preparation hours) or would be eligible for awarding of CEUs; &/or
2.5. Experience in doing peer-reviewing for life care planning credentialing; &/or
2.6. Participation in life care planning exam question development; &
3. Application & Fee. Fee is non-refundable. Fee Schedule; &
4. Proof of citizenship, passport or other government issued identification; &
An applicant achieves certification upon the following:
5. Completion of the ICCCP exam to provide assistance in peer validation of the exam; &
A Registrant profile is created &/or updated on the Public Registry, to display certification status(s).
Registrants are granted a 4 to 6 weeks grace period to submit:
6. Submit proof of satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check/Police Check; & current Errors & Omission Insurance/Liability Insurance.
A successful ICCCP(F) applicant will be awarded 12 ICCCP CEUs for participation in life care planning exam in beta version.
ICCCP grandfathering Eligibility

1. CVRP credential in good standing with the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals; or CCRC, CRC, CCM, CVE, CCVE, ICVE or equivaliant credential; &
2. Confirmation of having completed life care plans &/or authoring or co-authoring life care plan reports; &
3. Application & Fee. Fee is non-refundable. Fee Schedule; &
4. Proof of citizenship, passport or other government issued identification; &
An applicant achieves certification upon the following:
5. Successful completion of peer-review of a redacted life care plan report by the College; &
6. Successful passing of the College’s ICCCP exam, minimum 70%. Applicants must sit the exam within one year of application submission; &
A Registrant profile is created &/or updated on the Public Registry, to display certification status(s).
Registrants are granted a 4 to 6 weeks grace period to submit:
7. Submit satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check/Police Check; & current Errors & Omission Insurance/Liability Insurance.
Candidate would be eligible for the ICCCP Fellowship, if the candidate meets 3 of the 6 criteria for Fellowship as detailed in items “2.1” through “2.6” above.

1. CVRP credential in good standing with the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals; or CCRC, CRC, CCM, CVE, CCVE, ICVE or equivaliant credential; &
2. Completion of College-approved training submitted in writing to the College (including consideration for post-approval), done & confirmed in writing with a certified life care planner totaling a minimum of 800 mentoring & supervision hours (which is the equivalent of the number of instruction hours required for university credit) to include topics such as:
•introduction to life care planning, professional & ethical issues, evidence-based standards of practice, medical rehabilitation determination & cost projection;
•judicial & Professional witness expectations;
•catastrophic injuries in children & adults such as amputation, brain injury, spinal cord injury, chronic pain;
•pediatric life care planning issues such as brachial plexus, cerebral palsy, childhood abuse;
•other life care planning issues such as aging, & life expectancy;
•vocational, avocational, & education issues;
•development of a life care plan report structure & format;
•replacement & valuation of valuable services;
•pricing, offsets for ordinary expenses, & replacements frequency; &

4. Proof of citizenship, passport or other government issued identification; &
An applicant achieves certification upon the following:
5. Successful completion of peer-review of a redacted life care plan report by the College; &
6. Successful passing of the College’s ICCCP exam, minimum 70% (up to 3 examination rewrites). Applicants must sit the exam within one year of application submission; &
7. Initial Registration fee, within 60 days of successful exam. Fee Schedule

Registrants are granted a 4 to 6 weeks grace period to submit:

The ICCCP online exam with virtual proctoring is available in English in beta version. The exam is a 3 hour session. It is a competency examination based on Cost of Care, consisting of 150 skill-based, multiple-choice & scenario questions. The content is standardized & a passing grade of 70% is required. If a rewrite is required (up to 3 examination rewrites) there are fees payable to CVRP, online exam provider & virtual proctor. An applicant must sit the exam within 1 year of application submission.
