Rehabilitation Service Specialist (RSS): Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available
WCG is seeking passionate registered health care and vocational rehabilitation professionals for the fully remote role of Rehabilitation Service Specialist (RSS).
As an RSS you will work with Veterans to create a multi-faceted plan to support them to achieve a successful transition to post-service life. You will be the single point of contact for Veterans while they participate in the Rehabilitation Services and Vocational Assistance Program (RSVP). The RSS role is critical in establishing trust and building rapport with the Veteran through timely effective communication, and expert ability to coordinate and monitor rehabilitation plans.
As the ideal candidate, you have a strong understanding of medical, psycho-social and/or vocational rehabilitation services, and how to develop needs based, goal-oriented plans. You are a strong collaborator, passionate about making a difference, and believe in the power of work to make a difference. Rehabilitation Service Specialist
Fully remote! Work from home in any Canadian province
In this Role you will:
•Determine required rehabilitation assessments to further assess the Veteran’s capacity for improvement and clarify rehabilitation needs and coordinate as required
•Develop thorough Rehabilitation Plans, collaborating with a team that includes the Veteran, their family/caregiver, Rehabilitation Service Professionals, and the Veterans Affairs Canada Case Manager
•Ensure plans are needs-based, goal-oriented and focused on improving the six functional domains of well-being for the Veteran, which include: 1) mental and physical functioning; 2) social adjustment; 3) financial security; 4) employment and personal productivity; 5) family relationships; and 6) community participation.
•Identify barriers or risk factors that may impede success and empower the Veteran to problem solve, supporting the identification of strategies that will ensure success
We are looking for people with the following experience and qualifications:
1.A bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Rehabilitation, Social Sciences, Health Services, Human Services, or a related field, and one of the following:
a.five (5) years of experience in case management; or
b.have or are working toward health professional designation; or
c.have or are working toward the Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional (CVRP or a CVRP-F) designation (in Québec: Career Counsellors registered with the Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d’orientation du Québec)
2.A minimum of one (1) year experience in the direct provision of medical, psycho- social or vocational rehabilitation services including conducting assessments and making recommendations to support a comprehensive plan
3.Experience working with persons living with mental or physical health problems creating barriers in life.
