Introduction & Measurement of Moral Injury
With Dr. Anthony Nazarov, PhD, PMP
Associate Scientific Director, MacDonald Franklin OSI Research Centre and Colette Currin,

Counsellor and National Director of Military, Veterans, and First Responders, EHN Canada
Moral injury is frequently mischaracterized. In combat veterans it is diagnosed as post-traumatic stress; among physicians it’s portrayed as burnout. Moral injury results from a single or repeated transgressions of an individual’s deeply held moral beliefs and expectations. This can be due to actions that a person performs, witnesses, or fails to prevent, often in connection with one’s professional duty. The consequence for this conflict in moral standards is lasting psychological, social, and spiritual harm. Join Dr. Anthony Nazarov, Associate Scientific Director at MacDonald Franklin OSI research Centre, and Colette Currin, Counsellor and National Director of Military, Veterans, and First Responders, on Thursday, December 1 between 12-1pm EST as they further explain moral injury.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Understand current conceptual perspective on moral injury and moral distress
